A Jazzy Christmas In Paris
Marina Xavier needs no introduction to the music scene. In her second decade of performing, writing and recording she has more than a dozen successful releases. Marina is featured on major and independent labels in Europe and Asia in a variety of music styles.
The last two album releases define her as a Jazz Diva of our times. 'When the World was Young' 2003 and 'I thought About You' 2004 has been well received and enjoyed fine reviews.
Marina spent an exciting summer in Paris which resulted in the recording of 'A Jazzy Christmas in Paris' with some fine French Jazz musicians. Produced by Nicolas Rastoul for Rainsong Productions.
Once again she entralls you with her sultry and convincing vocals. She entices you to get into the festive Spirit and have a swinging and joyous Christmas.

When The World Was Young
Her choices make for an interesting track listing including the cabaret camp of 'Thanks for the Memory' and the Euro-broodiness of the title track 'When the World was Young'. As far as jazz inflections go Xavier's right mix of lazy smokiness and syncopated swing is on the money, with plenty of help from her cast of stellar sideman (including pianist Jeremy Monteiro ) Album Review

I Thought About You
This time collaborating with Olivier Hutman Marina delivers the tunes taking you on a voyage from the Armando Manzanero's haunting Mexican
bolero 'Te Extrano' to Sierge Gainsbourg's La Javanaise. Marina penned Small Talk influenced by Yma Sumac. The swinging tunes performed with a glittering line up of musicians will place this album
in the exciting league of International Jazz.
